Ron Paul won... clearly... cuz they were afraid to ask him about the Fed... He's just that intimidating!

People who denounce the free market and voluntary exchange, and are for control and coercion, believe they have more intelligence and superior wisdom to the masses. What's more, they believe they've been ordained to forcibly impose that wisdom on the rest of us. Of course, they have what they consider good reasons for doing so, but every tyrant that has ever existed has had what he believed were good reasons for restricting the liberty of others.

Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman appeared the most reasonable, and only for their foreign policy.

Appearing reasonable, is, of course, a deathblow to the candidacy of anyone trying to be the Republican nominee.

In terms of who was the best from a Tea Party perspective, it's hard to say. I don't think any of them stood out.

And that's why it's so funny when people talk about 'liberal media'. There is no 'liberal media' only corporate media with bias in favour of not upsetting their advertisers. It only sometimes seems liberal because minorities spend money too, and big business doesn't care who you are or what you believe in, support or fuck, as long as you give them your money.

Of course he's full of shit, he got elected by telling progressives he was in line with their ideals and would try to achieve the results they wanted, and as soon as he was in power he decided to lube up, bend over and spread for big business and Wall St., all the while complaining he was forced to. Obama's a crypto-conservative.

People clapped when they heard Bachmann deride Perry for giving families the option to have vaccinations for cervical cancer at age 12.

Bachmann actually argued that such a shot for "innocent young girls" is a major fault of big government, either completely unaware of other vaccination programs required by public schools or unaware of just how shitty cervical cancer is.

I mean, I'm a Republican (by name only, I guess, as the party runs towards the starboard side of the ship) and I thought Bachmann should have gotten the hook for such a blatantly ignorant comment.

It was the way that Perry went about getting the whole thing through, instead of going to the legislature and asking for it to be passed as part of the constitutional process, Perry signed an executive order mandating the shots with an 'opt out' option available, it wasn't the shots themselves or trying to protect teenagers from cervical cancer, it was the WAY of which the legislation or law was passed, She called Perry out for being a hypocrite and not following or at least not always compiling to his own advice and small government values.

Surprisingly politicians of all stripes use hyperbole to paint their adversaries as evil. I can't say it was undeserved or without precedent though.

Nah, in all seriousness, I liked Ron Paul the best for his 9/11 comments. That's the only part of the debate I watched though.

Ron Paul. Obama most certainly didn't win silly he wasn't there! :p

But I did hate how they all booed when Ron Paul said he wanted to bring our military home and cut military spending. I guess its ok for these people to cut spending on education, roads, etc. but when it comes to outrageous military spending you are suddenly anti-american for cutting defense.

Lunatic? You are saying a 12 term rep. doesn't know a little about how the government works? Really? And you should care as the economy is going to suck if the fed is not fixed and I mean REALLY suck.

Actually, I'm pretty sure most Wall Street leaders are what you'd call New York liberals and ardent supporters of the Democrats. And Wall Street donations as a whole tend to lean Democratic as well, though prior to the last Congressional landslide they did, reasonably, decide to back the winners.

Paul wants to "fix" the fed with a big hammer.

The question wasn't asked because everyone has heard his opinion, none of the others agree, and he doesn't deserve the opportunity to peddle his book on their time.
