It might be because female sexuality is a bit more fluid than male sexuality. Once men figure out which gender(s) interests them, they tend to stick with that story*, but women don't always do this, so it's probably more complicated.

Attraction doesn't mean you act on it, it just means that you find someone hot and if other factors were right, you'd maybe hit on them. Attraction definitely isn't chosen, otherwise we'd never hear of people pining for someone who is unavailable, or someone who society doesn't approve of.

Tell me, if everyone chose who they were attracted to, why would gay teenagers exist in conservative communities? Why would people cheat on their spouses? Why would people have sex with people they wouldn't date for fear of what their friends and families would think?
