The best female tennis player, ever, is coming back

Postby Hairless Kitten II » Tue Aug 25, 2009 11:51 pm

Justine Henin, one of the best female tennis player ever is coming back in january.

She currently already started the training, officialy only for the exhibition games in Charleroi and Dubai.

Elke Van Dongen-Rodriguez, the wife of Carlos Rodriguez, former coach of Henin, indicated to the newspaper 'Vers l’Avenir' that something is moving. "There are some things in preparation, but I can say nothing about it".

On May 14, 2008 Henin surprisingly put an end to her very successful career, she won almost everything there is to win, with the exception of Wimbledon. Her resumé is containing 41 singles titles, including seven Grand Slams so, two times the Masters and Olympic gold in Athens. She was in total 117 weeks on the first place in the WTA rankings.

It's good for the tennis that she's back.

I seem to remember the williams sisters being around when she was. Am I hallucinating or something?

Just saying that her return doesn't therefore signal their death knells is all.

Well, I'll tell you this: Did you see how Kim Clijsters crunched Serena at the last US Open?

Kim made her come back in style.

Justine Henin was much better as Kim and will have fewer problems to return to the top, since Justine is not a power player, but a technician.

And just like Kim she trained already for months, working in silence on her come back. These are top ladies, they don't come back to play a little around, they'll hunt for the top. Oh and Kim won the US Open.

That would be even better. But the chick is 40 now, too old for top tennis.

I reckon she was a marvellous player, but the competition in those times were not of the same level as today.
Currently, female players receive equal money as male player on many courts. There's a reason for that one.

I think this is wonderful news, at last a real challenger to the WIlliams sisters, both of which have dominated tennis for years.
