Zoning laws? :lol: Yeah, you'll love it when someone starts a factory on your block. Not a big one, mind, just a smallish one that has trucks pulling up nice and early in the morning, and hammering and banging all day. Yeah. Once again, HL Mencken is proved a prophet.

I've been to Houston where they have no zoning. It wasn't horrible.

It's fantastic. It's the main reason Houston is so much more affordable than New York or San Francisco, for example.

Little surprise that Prick Erry's Texas would be a Libertarian Paradise.

I've been to Houston where they have no zoning. It wasn't horrible.

They do have deed restrictions, though, which ...

- Affect the use to which real property may be put;
- Fix the distance that a structure must be set back from property lines, street lines, or lot lines;
- Affect the size of a lot or the size, type and number of structures that may be built on the lot;
- Regulate orientation of a structure; or
- Regulate certain fences requiring a building permit.

Those sound very much like zoning regulations. They just don't call them that.

As for zero corporate taxes, why shouldn't corporations pay for the government services they use?

I hate Rick Perry, and trust me he's not a Libertarian's dream. He's a conservative's dream. I personally hate him.
P.S. Rick Perry has nothing to do with Houston zoning. Houston's people have rejected zoning laws several times.

"Payroll tax" is generally understood as meaning the tax a worker pays, that is deducted from his pay. Are you using a different definition?

Capital gains taxes are levied on the profit made when a person or a corporation sells a holding. This is different than the profit made on the sale of goods and services.

I think I'm right in this.
