I'm in level 4 at my high school, planning to take AP next year. They don't offer Chinese at my school, but they do offer it on the virtual school, and there's a class you can sign up for to take the virtual classes, I'll probably take levels one and two.

What is Spanish class like at your school?

My teacher is un jefe, I have no idea how he ended up in redneck land. He's only 25 or 26, but he teaches us a lot of slang, as Spanish 4 is more of to immerse yourself in the language and learn native words that are exclusive to certain areas and such to be able to carry on conversations, and as such, speaking and listening are worth far more than writing, rather than learning new tenses and etc. He's taught us how to say "get on mah level" and stuff like that, and I learned how to call someone a trashy whore too, but not from him. I really want to go on the trip to Spain over spring break to Barcelona, Madrid, and Toledo, but since it's $2000 (surprisingly, only $400 of that is transportation) my parents are leery to say yes. Doubt they will though.

It's high school, so not exactly a professor. He does have an interesting background. A master's in Spanish from Georgia Tech, one year in Korea teaching kindergarteners to speak English, and now his third year teaching Spanish, with lots of travels over central and south america, and Europe. He has many interesting anecdotes from his trips. I hope enough people sign up for the Spain trip so he'll be the third chaperone.
