Although I'm not a farmer or a shepherd, I live pretty close to a few places where they keep sheep and I know that they're not the most slavish creatures on a farm. The look is another problem. Sheep don't look like slavish creatures. Their eyes are wide and so they constantly look like they're curious. Compare that with a cow who usually has those dead eyes that make it look like it's given up on life and is just counting the days until it leaves this mortal coil.
