From what I remember, it really depended on who was doling out the punishment. If you had a nicer sort of Roman official who followed the 'laws' of the Roman state, crucifixion was reserved for people like traitors and usurpers, ie the worst of the worst. It was a very public form of execution that was first and foremost meant to send a message to other people, rather than simply executing prisoners. That's why, if Jesus of Nazareth existed, he was probably executed by crucifixion..
Unlikely. I Jesus existed, he'd have more likely have been stoned, him being a false prophet, and all.

Saint Genesius, yes. I think the mocking plays is made up, frankly. Beheaded.
The Romans usually chopped your head off, especially if you were a citizen. Slaves and pirates and the worse criminals were crucified. Torture in various forms was used, sad to say. Slaves were almost always tortured in court cases, the feeling being that they needed the incentive to tell the truth.
Now I thought that the most common form of execution for Christians in pre-Constantine Rome was crucifiction, often combined with having a lion released in fron of them. Was that even a thing or am I combining two differant things?

I personally am a firm believer that the Annunaki exist and we aren't alone in this universe and that there MAY be a extreme psionic race of aliens that have the ability to splice and alter DNA to create us, the reasons why i believe in this is because the first recorded civilization in all of history ( Sumarians ) say that the annunaki where gods from other stars etc. and one more thing there are stone monolithic structures that cannot be made today yet were made by ancient people with Bronze tools, another may i add, is that there are Crystal skulls found across the world, im not kidding i want you to look it up, they are made perfectly, no scratches or ANYTHING, they are thousands of years old and are said to be given to humans by the annunaki as a gift, humans are supposedly a annunaki DNA creation. Another thing, ( im just stating multiple different things ) for example, the ark. you could not hold millions of species on a boat built by a single family, it is Obviously a DNA containment ship, the flood MAY be true but you cant hold even 1 of each animal if you had 1000 workers and 5 years to build a massive wooden ship.

I'm not really sure what the most common form was, but it sounds like you're remembering a scene from a movie. I doubt the Romans had that many lions just lying around. Sometimes people were given to the beasts, yes, sometimes crucified, sometimes simply beheaded. The Romans were running an empire, remember, they had real work to do. And if I remember correctly - from the Wiki article on the persecutions - the number of people killed was much smaller than generally thought.

isnt there an ancient roman source that christians use to make the claim? something associated with nero?
As a consequence, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians [or Chrestians] by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but, even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular. In accordance, an arrest was first made of all who pleaded guilty; then, upon their information, an immense multitude was convicted, not as much of the crime of firing the city as of hatred against mankind. Mockery of every sort was added to their deaths. Covered with the skins of beasts, they were torn by dogs and perished, or were nailed to crosses, or were doomed to the flames and burnt, to serve as a nightly illumination, when daylight had expired.

Why don't you just summarize it?
