Why Is Life So Unfair?

Postby Risna » Sat Sep 03, 2011 10:25 am

The more I see the more BS I realize this whole system of "life" is. Some people have it good (like me) and some people are just totally screwed (the poor). Why are some people born with messed up bodies and minds? Why is there suffering? Why is life SO unfair?

There is no peace. People fight wars over the stupidest thing! When we kill a solider, we affect the lives of a hundred people that knew him. People hate one another, more then they love life. We would rather eliminate our "enemy" then try to make peace. We would rather die for a cause then suffer in patience, we will not allow understanding.

There is no justice. When wrongs are done, there is no retribution. Those who play by the rules get beaten by the ones who cheat. People steal and lie and step on other people to get ahead. And then the person who was screwed then steps on another person and the cycle continues.

Is this how life is susposed to be? We survive yes.... but we do not live! We are not happy, and we cant even talk about it with anyone because 90% of everyone else is going throug the same shit as us. Is life just about mediorcracy? Is that the best we can do?

And i am only talking about people in western countries who have a choice how to life. There are billions of people out there who dont even have FOOD! Millions of people are dying ever day because they dont have the basic nessesities of life. Beautifull amazing people, who could become so much are stopped so quickly, their lives extinguished and they are forgoteen, forever....

Here is America there are people who eat more food then they should and then in Asia there are people who are starving to death.

Despite the "amazing" experience it is to be human with our great big brain, it almost seems worthless. We can do nothing to avoid our fate. We must struggle and die but we have it worse then the other animals. We can see the suffering around us, we can understand how it feels and we know we can do nothing about it. The animals are so focused on their own survival they can not feel this pain. Ignorance truly is bliss!

I know there is no way to perfect the system but there must be....a better way then what we have now. Your thoughts?

People forget that although we've surpassed most of them and replaced them with our own, we're still subject to nature's more basic laws. These include the following:
-Conflict is a requirement.
-If there are too many of you, I will find a way to kill you off.
-If I can't find a way to kill you off, I will make sure you kill yourselves off.
-Shit happens for no apparent reason. Maybe there actually is a reason, but I'm not telling.
-With great power comes great responsibility ;)

I'm happy, because I don't give a crap about wars being fought overseas, or children dying in Africa, or rising cancer rates. I say let them fight, and let them put many bullets in each other. Let the nation be all but destroyed; there's many a lesson in that. Let all of Africa starve and die of diseases until they return to the population of a few million that they once had; then perhaps they can build themselves up. Let cancer be a punishment for living too long: consider it a wake-up call that life will always be short, and your time to actually enjoy it will always be limited, no matter what you do.

It all depends on how you look at life, and quite frankly, although it sounds awful to any modern individual, the best way to look at it is with your eyes, and not those of a newscaster.

All people must struggle in their own way. The moment you give up the struggle, you resign yourself and others to 'fate'. We can reduce the suffering of the world, and we can fight against what makes the universe unfair. We may not ever be able to stop it completely, but we can fight against it with all the tools we have developed.

And I'd rather be knowledgeable than happy.

Me, I think life is unfair because we live in a fallen, broken world.

No matter how society is organised, there will always be injustice and unfairness.
There will always be the poor, and lower classes.

Someone has to clean the toilets.

Someone has to run the international corporate giant. And we don't want the guy who cleans the toilets to do it.

Or as the city is really called by the poor souls who inhabit it: Forsaken Hope. Here they suffer under a fanatically religious totalitarian regime. Outside the city walls lies a frozen and inhospitable wasteland. The people here live free from government control, but at a terrible price. They live in small nomadic communities, struggling to survive in the harsh climate.

Because we're an imperfect species half a chromosome away from chimpanzees with prefrontal lobes too small and adrenaline glands too large, born into a bloody civil war known as the evolutionary arms race for survival and reproduction, onto an insignificant planet with finite resources and finite knowledge, located a few million kilometres from one of 10^26 timebombs, in a universe ripping itself apart progressively by the second.

Life is unfair, and it's our moral duty to make it more fair. Whether you oppose the unfairness imposed by government bodies, or the unfairness imposed by the free-market, we all strive for the same goal: to break the chains that bind us to our ancestors, and create a world that's a better place, for ourselves and our offspring.

Life is not fair, but I think it is right to attempt to make life as fair as we can make it. Those who say "life just isn't fair, get over it" deny the desirability of fairness. Fairness is an ideal.

Of course life isn't fair. You have to even the playing fields.

You have to work and sacrifice to make life fair.
