Well, for me the OT has some valuable lessons, but it's more meant for the Jews. The NT is for the Christians. but some of the stuff in the epistles is just culturally related to that time period, so I tend to skip them parts.

That there was an earthquake in NYC today, I live in Manhattan but I never knew it happened because of me in the North Bronx

Uncertain. Zeno's intrigued though. The concept of keeping a tortured insect alive a few days before returning it to its nest with its comrades provides a nice question:

Will the tortured insect have its comrades euthanize it, or will it not acknowledge its peril as an emotional down-weight that it wont see suicide as an escape from its pain?
