I once placed my left hand on a woodstove in the midst of winter (when our fire is the hottest). Needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience.

I bet it was. I think my worst burning experience was last year, making pork chops. The grease sputtered and landed on my arm. It left a nice welt, that was filled with liquid.

Well, as far as handling food goes, no. Although when I was about 2, I took one of the brush attachments off of a vacuum cleaner, took off the lampshade on the bedside lamp, which was lit (and had been so for several hours), and tried to put the brush on the bulb. It went through, and the bulb touched the palm of my hand, giving me a rather extremely large blister, that resembled the Superdome...
