Seriously, What Have You Learned Today?

Here's something I learned, that I can seriously write when I'm focused.

I've almost 4500 words into a story about a day in the life of the average person in my nation, which is sad given it's taken up most of my day and at this point, there day is simply too awesome to be average. Steak for dinner, that's plausible, acing a big client meeting? Sure. Being assaulted by a nude foreigner, we're getting off the beaten path. Finishing the day dancing the waltz with your wife in what amounts to a palace filled with the richest people in the nation? How the hell did I convince myself that worked as an average day... Anyways, I'm saving that to my writing board, but I need to rewrite that story considerably.

I might not be able to meet you when you land in Richmond to take your next plane. (Am I right about that part?)
I'm probably driving to Richmond a few days before you land.

Plane? I'm scared to death of flying...
I'm on a Greyhound bus.

I feel for you. I was once a ranter. Eventually I trained myself to just quiet down and be the listener.

^this, and that I always tend to find work more important and listen to those of higher authority, mainly teachers. I'm never a rebel.

I've been working on it for a long time, but I fear I shall never learn to be the listener.
The minute I hear something that I can go on about, I do without thinking. I've tried to change it, too...

well, as I can be as charismatic as Bill Clinton online, I suck offline as in I am not a very good person at talking to others, unless they are a good friend of mines. My problem is that I am not acting as energetic as I should.

Me too. Before punishments and bullying at school knocked it out of me, I was always the loudest voice in the room. Nowadays I can go days at a time without speaking.

I only claim it because I've seen it be the case many times before for myself. If you never try because you're too worried of failure then you've already failed. Better to get rejected then spend forever wondering what might have happened.

Same, but keeping it up shows that you have confidence, besides they like it when you look into their eyes, but if it makes you uncomfortable, try looking around, every now and then.
