2.) I can respect anyone, of any religion- they choose to believe in SOMETHING. They look around, do the math, and realize that Science- as an abstraction, as an independant entity- cannot explain the world we live in. They realize that there has to be someone/something out there juggling the odds to make it all work out... and I can respect it even if I don't agree with them.

Atheists- those who believe in nothing... well, I can't respect anyone that cannot acknowledge that such a minute, fallible, flawed creature as man has to be the ultimate expression of the potential of the universe.

Why can't you meet at a common ground, and say that one can agree that science can explain, not fully--never fully--but indefinitely to some extent explain the world around us and that there is some Creator, some force that balances the very foundations of science itself, let alone our very existence, and purpose?

Is that impossible? Or do you take up that idea that you're either "With the LAWRD or with the DEVAIL" or the latter, "You're with the REDNECKS or the GENIUSES?"

I was speaking of epistemic nihilism, which is what I would consider to be the true nihilism. Metaphysical and ethical nihilism are nihilism lite. Also, there are atheists that believe in a true objective morality and purpose. Plus, he said that atheists believe in nothing. A true belief in nothing is epistemic, not metaphysical nihilism.

1.) there is a possibility that their condition might have something to do with chemical abnormalities and thus not be entirely their choice; they choose to follow those impulses rather than fight them, so there is a choice made... but it's honestly just the same as any time any one else chooses to sin, so even if I believe its wrong, its understandable. Either way, their sin is no worse than any I've committed, so we're on even ground.

Theistic Evolution is merely a religious viewpoint... It's not coke nor Pepsi... And while it at least accepts science, it is no more science than Creationism...

The only difference being, anyone who is a Theistic Evolutionist, or its close cousin Evolutionary Creationist... Isn't trying to mandate their beliefs into science textbooks (unlike Literal Creationists and their close cousins Day-Age Creationists)...
