Gay. When confronted with asshole christians, its more 'you're sadly mistaken'. For homosexuals its "you will burn in hell for your perversion!"

Shame that desireing a little bumfun will land you in this "hell." If it even exists.

As for Athiesm, they just choose to live life their own way, and not obey a 2000 year old book that contradicts itself.

I do find it strange that gays seem to have it harder. Doesn't the whole bible kinda make it clear that all sins are equally bad except for the one sin which is far, far worse than all others, denying god/Jesus?

I suppose being gay carries more of a negative stigma. But if you really want to piss some wacko off, tell him/her you are a: transgendered homosexual fornicating atheist.

And I meant every word of it. ;)

My Auntie was visited a few months ago by a pair of Jehovas witnesses.

Now my Auntie is a Satanist. And she invited them in. After seeing her front room, complete with Skulls, black candles and a fake bloodstained table, they made their excuses and left. No religious caller has visited her since. Was a shame, she said she actually wanted to hear their argument. 8)

1. Yes... all sins are supposed to be equal... Which is why I complain about those types of "Christians"... If they're screaming bloody hellfire down upon gays, they better be doing so upon disobedient children, adulterers, thieves, liars, people who work on sabbath days (which is anyone, since they all cannot even necessarily agree on sabbath days), etc...

2. "Denying God/Jesus" isn't the unforgivable sin... It's blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (IE attributing the operation of The Spirit to evil...) It's an active operation, not a passive denial.

I read somewhere that a man taking it up the ass is likely to get more out of it than a woman taking it up the ass. Men seem to have an easier time with the whole anal orgasm thing.

I'm not gay, so I don't know how you guys have it.

P.S. Probably the transgenders have it worse than either group, but they aren't part of this discussion. (Discrimination! :p ) Actually they aren't because I want a legitimate comparison. It seems too obvious what the answer would be if transgenders were an option.

I'm of the opinion that if someone actually cares about one, then the other will likely just piss them off more.

I remember reading somewhere that athiests were the most discriminated-against minority. Can't remember where though.

EDIT: Oh, wait. That was already posted. For the record, I agree that gays have it worse.

Living where I live, one of the least religious places in the world, I have to say that "the most mistrusted minority" is not at all the case, as most people aren't religious. Having an organised type of religiosity here lands you in a minority. So, being an atheist isn't at all hard, it's more the norm. Religion is not a big part of public discourse.

So, to play this inane little victim game, I'll have to go with gay people as atheists/non-religious people aren't at all divergent from the norm where I live.
If you say "I don't believe in god." you will tend, in my experience (which obviously doesn't constitute proof), to get a better reaction than if you say "I'm an atheist." I'm not gay, so I don't know how you guys have it!

Again, living in one of the gay friendliest places in the world, it's not all that hard. What is disturbing, though, is what I refer to as "moments when the bubble breaks". You see, I am surrounded by educated, mostly non-religious, tolerant, and hence decent people. Anyone's being gay or straight or whatever in that setting is not an issue. I can go such long periods of time without my being gay having any sort of negative consequence, that I can forget there could be ones. But every now and then, that bubble will burst. I'll read something idiotic in the paper. Some moron will use "gay" as a pejorative. A religionist might not keep his stupidity to him/her/itself. I might get a phone call from my awful mother. Once in a blue moon some drunk asshole will start spewing shit. Latvia (or as that Lithuania? Whichever, I can never keep them apart) or the USA might come up as topics of conversation, or someone might actually problematise my existence as this thread does. And I'll be reminded of the time gap that separates my life in the 21st century from the antediluvian attitudes harboured by people whose existence is the one that should be problematised and marginalised.

Gays have it a lot worse. Where I live it's fine to not believe in God, most people don't even go to church or anything. But gays have all that social stigma.

Basically, it boils down to the fact that men can get pleasure both from anal penetration and prostate stimulation. Females, for obvious reasons, can only get the former.

Not sure what you are asking.

But if "denial" was a framework for an unforgivable sin, Christ would not have forgiven Peter.

The Criteria is in Mark 3:22-30 and Matthew 12:31-32...

1. The Pharisees attribute Christ's Work to that of an evil spirit
2. Christ rebukes them with a warning, which highlights this blasphemy...
3. Blasphemy against the Son of Man (Christ) is not this sin, it is forgivable.
4. The Warning issues to "Speaking" against the Spirit. An active act against it.
5. This warning was in issue to the acts of the Scribes/Pharisees, in attributing Christ's power to evil spirit/Beelzebub

The warning was the danger of an unforgivable act, that is applying the same epithet upon the Spirit as the Scribes did here upon Christ.

Sure some "Christians" may be attributing a lesser act, or passive operation to this sin... But their argument isn't even grounded on their own texts. It's more used as a scare tactic by some.
Such heroic nonsense!
