Swith: It's because you're so awesome. God himself refreshes the screen before he types just to see if Nightkill has written anything while he was off somewhere else.

Could you explain how it will lead to disaster without using scenarios that the EU literally exists entirely to prevent?
That's it. The EU won't work because Europe is too divided and has too many conflicting interests. Look at the UK, one of the 'leaders' of the EU, and the citizens of Britain don't even want to join up with the EU.

If France and Germany aren't at war, it's working.
Just because one state in paticular is very uguuuu towards America and likes to pretend to be isolationist doesn't mean it's going to fall apart.

Why must you crush my federalist dreams?
Anyway, the goal of the EU was always to become a federation. Ever since its conception in the '50s.

In which case, it'll probably work out. I was operating on the assumption people here expected it to become Unified Europe.

It's an abomination and I can't wait for it to be gone forever.

Why? If you told people in 1871 that we would all be friends and told them about the Franco-German bridage they would have probably laughed their asses off. In the 1950s, France and the UK nearly became one. Is it really that inconcievabe that things will continue to "improve"?

In the Middle Ages, if you told people that England and Scotland would unite, they'd have killed you on the spot.
