That's it. The EU won't work because Europe is too divided and has too many conflicting interests. Look at the UK, one of the 'leaders' of the EU, and the citizens of Britain don't even want to join up with the EU.

I think that Unified Europe is a good idea, but it just isn't feasible at this time and age. Maybe in a hundred years or so, if Earth is existing by then.

In the European Parliament, only 7.5% are eurosceptic. A further 7.5% are anti-federalist.

That gives you 85% of MEPs not minding a confederation or a federation.

Honestly, the European Parliament is elected by the people of the nations in question. So it's pretty democratic.
