Though Lieutenant Kizhe is indeed quite humorous, and Triumph of the Will is indeed a marvelous technical achievement (as is Birth of a Nation), content-wise they have no merit whatsoever.

Therein lies your problem. What YOU do with your stuff has impact on others. Thus, rules get formed which may limit certain parts of how you can deal with what you think is yours. I got some news for you.... Property does not really exist, it is imaginary lines drawn on paper which delineate material objects between people/groups in the system. Money is even LESS real than property, it has no actual physical/tangible value. It's a nebulous piece of paper printed by the Federal Reserve System... Every day your money has less exchange value than it did the day before, even if no one "takes" any from you in taxes.

Truthfully, there is only ONE thing that should have value, and that is WORK... And unfortunately in Laissez-Faire Capitalism, WORK is undervalued, and MONEY/PROPERTY is over-valued, so those who do the most WORK get the LEAST return, and those who do the LEAST work (but throw money/property around) get the MOST return. IOW Laissez-Faire Capitalsim is nothing but Feudalism in disguise...

A precondition for the middle class to suffer is that there has to be a middle class. Under Rand's system, you'd have maybe 10 people who control everything and everyone else would be coerced by them if they wanted to physically survive.
