Broadcasting yes. Apparently you can use end-to-end encryption on Blackberry too, which even the network carrier can't read. Mostly it's corporations and governments which do that.

Do you know how difficult the encryption is to use? Is it a built-in feature?

I don't know. I just read it somewhere.

But if you think about it, you can send files to anyone over a modern phone. They could be encrypted first, and decrypted at the other end, even if you had to take them off the phone to do it. They're just data. Of course a modern phone should be able to encrypt data in real time, to a voice standard if not better. It's just a question of whether the manufacturer wanted to offer you the option. Blackberry did, years ago.

...and I notice that a window of Tesco Metro is broken. But I think: fuck em. I didn't see their shareholders defending the area from trouble. They're a large part of the problem. They come into areas like this and destroy the sense of community. Then when the area gets attacked, people have to defend their shops and houses on their own. It was mostly Turkish and Kurdish guys around here, but not exclusively so as there is a black guy barbers on that corner and a Taxi firm run by Africans, as well as Fried Chicken shop run by Pakistanis that were also out on the street but it shows it can be done and it shows that a community isn't just one race. It's just a shame that beacause it was mostly Turks and Kurds in Dalston and Sikhs in Southall that it embarrassed the EDL and National Front into hijacking the defence of the shops in Eltham.

Unemployment is a factor in these riots however the thug mentality has taken over. It's pretty ironic destroying local businesses to riot against unemployment and the poor performance of the economy. I wonder how many local businesses will go out of business or be forced to sack people because of this.
