Should it be illegal to deny the Holocaust?

It's probably the biggest event of the 20th century. How many people are denying it, that someone decided it should be illegal to do so? Not only is the law completely unnecessary, it is also an overstepping of government bounds, essentially telling you what you are and aren't allowed to believe on threat of punishment by law.

It must be illegal, it is a constant reminder to the horrible corruption brought on by power. Germany had a Reichstag, then Hitler took over and the atrocities were committed. The same can occur in any nation, the holocaust must always be remembered to warn the future that that absolute power leads to the corruption of a nation.
