Yeah, I'm aware of that.

Yes, I am. I'm just not comfortable drinking something that dissolves rust. I know stomach acids are bad, but at least they are inside of you because your body produces them.

Yeah. I wouldn't drink stomach acids either.

There are plenty of things that you consume that could get your stomach churning.

I tent to try and avoid them.

You misread. "Unessasary" is what was said. I've done a little research and I've learned that it's a place you send disused essays, have the ink drained off and receive back clean paper at the end. Apparently they use these beverages there as an ingredient.

In your opinion, however I answered the question as posed. I do not feel it is necessary for you to tell me how I should or should not answer a question, given that it is not up to you to decide how I do.

Now, I will refrain from replying to you any further to prevent this from going in a direction it really shouldn't be.

So you're more comfortable in drinking something that creates rust?

I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, where carbonated beverages are traditionally referred to as soft drinks. Soda is very commonly said now, so I say either soft drink or soda. :)

Satan's piss.
we, unlike the bourgeoisie, have nothing to lose and therefore our expression will be the only honest one, our words will be the only challenging ones and our art will be the one revolutionary expression. We need new noise and new voices and new canvases to become something more than the last poets of a useless generation.

Poor point, brah. One type of lack of energy comes from having recently been engaged in physical activity, while the other comes from the very lack of such activity, and from a poor diet. Incomparable.

Originally I called it soda. When we moved to Mass. I discovered it was called tonic. Usually I don't call it anything, I just say Coke, Pepsi, ginger ale or what have you.

Nobody has ever asked 'Do you want a soda?'

You got it right, but it seems that people are confused by my question :p I don't necessarily mean what you order...I just wanted to know the general term for the category that can include drinks such as Pepsi, Coke, Faygo, etc. fizzy products.

Vitius wrote:Random, but fairly simple.

I had a southern classmate and he called it 'Coke'. If he wanted orange-flavored soda, he would call it 'Orange Coke', and would proceed to put the type of flavor or drink in front of Coke to refer to what specific kind of soda he wanted. Since then, my family has gone on some trips down south (mainly to Florida) and we've passed through very rural parts of Kentucky/Tennessee and they often called it Coke as well, but they understood soda/pop and everything. However, I have heard some stories from friends when they went down south, and their waitresses/waiters didn't know what pop/soda was; they only called it Coke.

What about you?
I have lived in the Deep South all my life & have never ever heard it called "Coke." I think this is a myth.
