Logical Homophobia

Postby Unhealthy2 » Fri Jul 15, 2011 7:35 pm

In this thread, I would like for people that are anti-gay to provide rational arguments that homosexuality is bad, evil, harmful, or whatever other negative connotations they associate with it. Please state what negative thing you associate with it, and why you think this association is rational. I wish only to hear rational arguments, so please, only post reasons that you think are rationally defensible.

Oh, this will end well. There is no logical explanation in favor of homophobia, but I shall bet my ass that HIV/AIDS, social disruption, the Abrahamic god, the extinction of the human race via lack of reproduction, and tradition shall all be mentioned as reasons in favor of it before the tenth page.

You're forgetting that if kids are taught that homosexuality is normal, they won't reproduce, and the whole species will become extinct in a generation.

Ceann, how much did you win? I want a cut. Tmut, if kids are taught heterosexuality is good and proper, will homosexuality cease to exist?

It didn't, and it will not apply vice versa, seeing as naturally, heterosexuality is, according to even the most lenient estimates (somewhere from 10% to 20% from memory) by far a majority anyway.

At least you don't have phobophobia.

The epic moment when you make up a word like phobophobia and hope that it's the real term for something, and it turns out you're right.

Are there even that many homophobes on these forums? Or even people who are anti-homosexuality? It seems quite pro-gay rights, tbh.

hydrophobic molecules follow pretty rational, logical rules.

"phobic" and "phobia" don't always mean "fear of". It means "aversion to". Homophobia isn't necessarily a fear of gay people (though it could be). It is simply a dislike or aversion towards homosexuals.
