What is the strangest thing you've ever eaten?

Postby Haydenish People » Sun Jul 03, 2011 11:57 pm

Honestly, what is the strangest or most disgusting thing you've ever eaten. It can be one of your favorites, or one of the foods you stray away from. It can be anything from goose heart to cow brains, or maybe a well-known food, like a hamburger, made from moose meat.

The strangest thing I've ever eaten was goat stew at an African restaurant. It was delicious. It was prepared with slices of tomatoes, red pepper, and onion on top. And the best part was you ate with a tortilla like bread. It's like using a paper towel to clean up a mess, except a delicious, edible mess.

Most people think it's weird that I mash my breakfast together when I eat it, like if I eat at Waffle House and get grits, eggs, and hashbrowns, I'll mix it all together and crush it up.

It's honestly one of my favourite meals and one of the best hangover cures.

Sometimes I eat grass. Not that strange, but whatever.
This was formerly a signature. One day, it may return to its splendid past. In the meantime, enjoy some pictures of my cats.

Not much in the way of things. Just snails and huhu grubs, which are basically the larvae of the huhu beetle, one of the native insects of NZ.

I ate a small flower once. It was alright - the texture was a little off though.

I also ate a weird sugarless chocolate/honey cupcake I made once.

It was a very strange, bizarre concoction. It was sticky. And weird. I got the idea it was less cooked than held together by honey.

This is a difficult question for me.

I tried tarantula once, but I'm not certain if you could consider that particularly odd, seeing as it is a delicacy in Thailand. Perhaps Oreos+Hot Sauce+Chicken Noodle Soup? It's a strange combo, but again, probably not the weirdest thing I have eaten.

Give me a few minutes. Something will eventual slap me in the face and yell, "Why the hell did you even consider eating it?"
"I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it."

Until I stop procrastinating and write a Factbook, here are a few basic facts of Xarithis for reference:

Either the pizza-flavored dried larvae snacks at a local reptile store, or the escargot my friend caught in the garden of our high school then home-cultivated for our French class dinner.

The escargot happened to be next to the chocolate fondue, so that's what I dipped the escargot in. It was odd.

Thai food is awesome! But I have never even considered oreos with hot sauce with chicken noodle soup. It sounds like some creation from the dorm cafe!
