Maccabi Haifa 5 : 0 Steaua Bukarest

I... Didn't exactly expect that. Both minnows (In the present. Ain't the eighties anymore, Steaua), but I was pretty sure Steaua is the bigger minnow.

Maccabi Haifa beat Partizan Belgrade a few years back, too, if my memory serves me. Not that Partizan is a big club, but it's certainly a club that is at least well known (well, mostly for violence and racism, but that's a different matter...).

I wouldn't say minnows, Maccabi Haifa have gotten to the Round of 32 quite a few times although Steau have gone downhill in the more recent years, but like you said it was unexpected, gratz though, I like Maccabi Haifa. Also
Maribor 1: 1 Braga

It's Maribor's first point :D, although I don't expect them to qualify from their group they can elevate the coefficient of Slovenia to a respectable amount.

It's kinda funny reading the word "hun"...not because it's an intrinsically bad word itself, but because where I'm from calling someone a hun is roughly as offensive as calling someone from the other side a taig, and either is likely to get you the shit kicked out of if you're marginally unlucky in your positioning.

I get the impression that the Scottish Government is super cracking down on that sort of stuff too.
The kind of middle-class mentality which actuates both those responsible for strategy and government has little knowledge of the new psychology and organizing ability of the totalitarian States. The forces we are fighting are governed neither by the old strategy nor follow the old tactics.

Yeah - and rightly so. I use it mostly to mock the brutish sectarian sorts. I'd not use it in person, of course, and don't mean it as a sectarian slur - just wanted to make that clear - and use it rather because it is patently absurd.

I only had the privilege (if you could call it that) of going to a few SPL matches. One of them was Hibs v Rangers away at Ibrox. Until I was safely in the stands surrounded by other Hibs fans it was, to be honest, fucking terrifying. This coming from someone who is from the South Side of Chicago. That was what, five years ago now? Six years? I'd like to think that things have gotten much better, but I suspect they really haven't. From what I hear the Celtic fans still like to sing "Go home you Huns" and Celtic Symphony and all that nonsense.

Barcelona vs Sevilla. Javi Varas... fucking idol. He intervened 14 times, made 9 saves, and even stopped a penalty shot by Messi in the 94th minute.

Not even funny how badly CIty payed off the ref. It's so fucking obvious it's frustrating. He missed

2 red card tackles
1 penalty

and these were OBVIOUS. Man City should receive auto-relegation for match fixing.

I've tuned in the second half, and I'm not seeing the ref being too favourable...
