Denmark Finishing ahead of Portugal? Great going there! Can't wait for Portugal to be eliminated once and for all by, say... Estonia <_<

Pity Norway broke in so badly during the second half of the qualification, or this group would've had an awesome result.

Scotland Awww :( I was so hopeful. Oh well.

No. That's our job in the EC final.

I did, however, hope that Lithuania would be able to beat the Czechs.

On a different note, although only Spain and Germany went through qualification without conceding a game, all group winners - with the exception of the Netherlands - managed to concede less goals than Germany.

World class offence, world class midfield, pub class defence -_- This has to change if we want to actually come home with Euro trophy #4...

Meh, not that old.

We're still the favourites, aren't we? Unless Holland went up the charts some time...

Though of course, with their loss against Sweden, they'll be back down.

Co-favourites, yes. But hardly the only ones. Germany with its similar win-all-games streak, and Italy with its ludicrously good defence are just as big favourites, too, IMHO.

The Netherlands are debatable. Downgrade them just because of one performance? Maybe? Eh...

Italy isn't going to win jackshit.

Germany's got a crap defence, tbh.

D'aww, don't worry. Next time, you'll know not to be in the same group as the champions. Oops, I meant favourites.

Seriously though, it was a pretty good game, especially towards the end, when you actually managed to cope with the heat of Spain and start playing. :p

Too bad Silva had your number.

Anyone know the seedings for the playoffs? I'm guessing four of Turkey, Ireland, Croatia, Portugal and Czech Republic, but I don't know if it's just by world ranking or through some arcane formula devised for maximum bias against weaker countries. [/cynic]

EDIT: Now been announced that it's Ireland, Croatia, Portugal, Czech Republic. Well, good luck Bosnia-Herzegovina, Estonia and Montenegro (and Turkey, but I don't feel they're in as much need of luck).

Also, a story from BBC Sport: "Scotland yet to peak" - Gallacher.
Former Scotland striker Kevin Gallacher believes the blend and momentum of the current side means it has a good chance of reaching the 2014 World Cup.

...

What's wrong with hoping for a 9th Group Stage Entry and a 9th Group Stage Exit?

Scotland: Consistently bad at the World Cup.

Wishful thinking.
We'll talk about this again in 2012. :p

Fun Fact: Due to there being two hosts, only Spain and the Netherlands - in addition to Poland and the Ukraine - are in the #1 seed pot. Germany is in the second pot.

A group with the Netherlands and Germany is perfectly feasible.

Cue the Netherlands coming second in the group and playing Spain in the quarterfinal... :D

Meh, we can win those games. It won't be easy but everybody said thesame in 2008 with Italy, France and Rumenia. Look how that played out.

Or it's the wake up call we needed to win tournament.

But how can we beat the WC runner up when we ARE the runner up?
