If England is going to play so cagey and defensive, why not plug in Carroll instead of Welbeck and just try long balls towards his head? It's not like playing on the ground is working (what with how slow the middle midfielders are), so why not bite the bullet and try some Stoke City stuff?

However, that one Ukrainian guy was offside on the run up to the play. Poor refereeing from the assistant and goal line ref.

Looking at the bottom image, the goal line ref's head is actually more on the pitch side of the white line when the ball crosses the line, so bad positioning on his part I believe.
