To all those who said we were certain for the drop earlier in this thread at the start of the season; eat it. Until we go down next season when we inevitably get pillaged due to the unfair nature of English football.

But until then, YEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

You can always go to the Welsh Premier League if England is too unfair - but the whole league owes you lot a big thank you for what you've done to Man City.

Nah. That would mean the scum would be the best team in Wales, which would not make sense.

Question; are Bristol City now Cardiff's main rivals?

Rutten gone at PSV. Finally. Now hopefully they manage to improve their defense and get back on track for the championship.

It would be too good to be true of Basel and APOEL got through, but 7-0, really, thats just embarrassing...

Also, the yearly leagues have kicked off, here's my predictions :p

Kazakhstan
1) FK Aktobe - One of my favourite teams in Europe (When they played AZ Alkmaar, it was just brilliant)
2) Shakhter Karagandy
3) FC Astana

Estonia
1) FC Flora Tallinn
2) Levadia Tallinn
3) Nomme Kalju

Lithuania
1) Ekranas
2) Zalgris
3) Tauras Taurage

Belarus
1) BATE -obv
2) Gomel
3) Dinamo Minsk

I couldn't care less about the others (ie. Latvia and the Nordic Countries Oh and Armenia)

You could even be ahead of them next week – they're playing in the FA cup

Never mind. Just checked the fixture list. Arsenal aren't playing this weekend. Spurs and Arsenal are both playing next Wednesday

Warnock's a decent manager and he'll get Leeds promoted within a couple of years (if he's given the time). Whether they'll stay up is another matter...

Yeah...I absolutely hate prog rock...the embodiment of fascist music that lot....bastards that they are. Indeedly! *cough*

More seriously....if we stay in the Championship for more than one more season we will lose not only the cachet of being a big club with a brilliant youth academy drawing young players to the club...we will also only draw rank loan signings...we are currently a selling club. Don must be rolling in his grave.

sigh

Well at least we beat Boro away...which is a normal situation in normal circumstances so perhaps given that we didn't lose (I think the last time we lost to boro in the league away was 1992 or something...)

The 'we need CM' thing is definitely going to come up again whether we go through tonight or not (currently 1-0 down on the night and 4-2 down on aggregate, which we could overturn, but I don't see us scoring 3 goals to be honest), but you have to say, Bilbao are incredible for a team that can only sign Basque players/players who grew up in the Basque region.

Preimer League leaders getting beat by 7th in la ligua. Shameful. This may bee a knee jerk reaction, but, if Fergie can't beat FUCKING ATHLETIC BILBAO, he can't be our manager. Buy a CM or bring in someone that fucking can.

We lost to a team that held Barcelona to a 2-2 draw in La Liga, and damn near won the match, are in the final of the Copa Del Rey, beat the money spending PSG in the Europa League group stage, and haven't lost at home since November 11th, all while having the pretty big handicap of only being able to sign Basque nationals.

It's that 'fucking embarrassing' at all.

You can't really say the table tells a fair story of La Liga, though, can you? It never really has, as far back as I can remember.

I was going to come on here and post an ironic 'Fergie out' one-liner. Sadly it seems I have been beaten to it, though not ironically. Seriously, this is one of the worst United teams I can remember...and they're top of the league.

Also, apparently Berbatov will be leaving United. It won't happen, but he could do a job for Arsenal.

No, it's just another proof that the gap between Spain and the rest of football world is still widening. It won't change until other nations follow their path in breeding the legions of kids who are able to tie reef knots with their left feet.

But hey, City is three goals down against Sporting which was barely able to kick out Legia Warsaw and it's gross debt exceeds EUR 200M. And THAT is really embarrassing.

Hah, I was about to say the same thing about Berby going back to Arsenal's hated neighbor. I feel a bit bad for him, well, as bad as I can feel for anyone playing for a top-of-the-table team and making more money than I would know what do with. I mean, he scored 20 goals in 36 games last year and now he can barely get on the pitch. He deserves a move to a club that will give him consistent time in the first 11, even if that means going to a mid-table team.

Ha, no.

Athletico Bilbao beating United in one tie has nothing to do with any Spain-rest of the World gap, (such a gap is non-existant). United didn't perform and Bilbao did, and that's all there is to it.

Agreed. I get sick and tired of people saying that his goals are only vulture goals, anyways.

If I were a Man U fan, I wouldn't care if every goal was a damned beach ball goal if you were scoring in 70% of your matches.

Some of his goals are just examples of how gracefully you can play as a striker.

well had you asked me if Man U would beat Bilbao...I'd have said yes (given Man U's propensity to improve in the later stages of the campaign)) especially as it is in a lesser comp than the CL...

So quite surprised...but that's football...Bilbao wanted it more. Fair enough.
