Most of my friends are from there and they are bright wonderful people. Some others I casually walk by on San Diego are also wonderful people to whom I share smiles and talk to as well as we have met forever.
Some of your 'American' (I would say universal, but what ever) values are actually good and should be embraced, such as the seek for truth, justice and freedom.

But. . .it's the politics of the States which I dislike a lot.
Taking on example the current ObamaNation: everyone back here on the border thought of him as a competent president which might actually work together against the Drug situation and weapon dealing in Mexico, be much more friendly, give a caring hand and finally stop the Army from killing random people instead.

What we got was: MOAR walls on the border (useless as we now use catapults and holes to cross over), they did remove the army but's at a painfully slow pace compared how 'BOOM!' they came by, the whole Libya thing is ok but. . .it became overkill with NATO getting involved (Y U NO halp Egypt anyways? ), Osama got killed but we gave a f*ck about it in Pakistan and now they seem to want to start 'Operation Save the World' in there, things in Iran are tensing, there is less cooperation and more pushing . . .

I can go and make a list and I'm not even doing anything regarding INTERNAL affairs, which I also heard they where bad. And this from a guy who gave so much hope he was given a freaking Nobel Prize for it. SRSLY!

And the American Statian Media is becoming more stupider and paranoia inducing, making people stupid and paranoid and thus fueling their 'fear' for . . . I don't know, Latinos, Arabs, their neighbor, their school, their. . . A long list of things people don't give a f*ck around here, all while weapons rounds are sold as cheap as 20 dlls in Walmart (I almost bought one and I didn't show ID, just for the kicks to see how regulated they where, and I'm not even Statian myself : P )

= _ =; They say that if you want to change the world, you should start with yourself, but the United States doesn't seem to want to do so. . .and then they go and impose their prominent 'Jesus-like' figure on countries who would rather go die than being helped by a nation that does it sometimes for propaganda. . .
Yes, propaganda war does exist my friends. . .

Um. . .I'll stop ranting now.

Good point except for the whole border thing, you have a serious problem with having illegals come into our country and it needs to be stopped, its not healthy for the United States. Also before your government starts talking bad about American border policy take a look at your own.

I know < _<
We whine about how 'Evul (TM)' the Statians are with our own illegals and we treat the Cental Americans like shit : | (I should change that emote to >: | )

But, what I meant with the border is. . .if the United States is so 'keen' and 'kind' to help, why not invest helping Mexico make the jobs they so much seek in here or make some sort of work-thingy like the Braceros program around the 40s and 60s? Besides, it's cheap jobs nobody really wants to do. . .
Canada has some like that and they are doing fine (though it's harder to catapult yourself there, right? )

Regarding my own country politics, I'd just want to burn the Senate and Los Pinos change the people in charge or have my people be less bowed down and coward and more prone to action. : / SRSLY . . .

That is not what I said and you know it. I'm saying the overall impression we get of americans is of loud, arrogant people. That is the impression that is given off to the rest of the world.

No, I have not been to the Middle East, but that is beside the point. I have never said everyone hates America, I'm just suggesting reasons as a response to the OP.

I agree with what most you stated except the liberal love part. Agreed Gays should(Although im not to fond of gays I accept them as people because they are) allow to marry but the incest and other loves(Fetishes) are a touchy subject. Technically in the US incest is illegal(Unlike some European countries) because of genetic disabilities produced from it. More then half the time the product of incest has some sort of disability physically seen or not. But even if you do take that out most of the children come out fine just messed up when they find out daddy is also uncle. It would be illegal because of some mental trauma or something along those lines, or be legal after both parties are of age(18). Other stuff is mostly illegal for the same thing as incest but all of this is basically based on "Good Christian Morals". The fact is most Americans see incest and other profaned things to be weird or disgusting and rather prefer ether straight or non-straight ways. But obviously every one has some fantasy fetish but in the end choose the top 2 because it's natural for us Americans.

I disagree with the extremism of the OP (especially with his siding with American conservatives and saying that Japan deserved it), but I have noticed something odd recently; how come it is okay for other nations' citizens to lambaste America, but when America does the same to other countries (such as Canada, the UK, France, etc.) we're seen as the only ignorant ones? I've seen this countless times on the Internet, and it grows tiresome.

I am an American, and I know many people my age, including me, that are incredibly interested in world affairs. I'm 19, but that doesn't stop me from reading CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc. every day and knowing more about the world. It's just the ignorant people that stand out more because they are, in fact, ignorant.

Finally, Western nations should hardly comment on our obesity. Most of you are right behind us.

I think the main issue on that front, this coming from a Brit, is that the news never says "Obesity is on the rise because of an increase in fast food sales," it says "Obesity is on the rise because of an increase in fast food sales in American companies such as McDonalds and Subway."

i.e --> News is saying our obesity is America's fault, people listen to this, and blame America, note how they have the world's highest obesity rate (Although as you pointed out we're not far behind) and so blame America.

In one of my earlier posts, I did put up a link to a chart showing the number of states in which incest is legal, and the number of states in which gay marriage is legal. Incest is legal in many more states. This is fact.

You'll notice that Americans that have been elsewhere, or Americans that used to be from somewhere else, often have a slightly less rose-coloured view of the US. That's not to say it's a third world hellhole and you're deluded - just that it's worth bearing in mind that your experience is really rather one-sided. Others might know something you don't.

Why not just 'United States'?
You're pretty much the only Country named like that. . .
The 'of America' part (I think) came to remind yourselves from which continent you wanted to conquer by 1860 live on.
The US is another wonderful alternative.

BTW, Mexico is also part of North America (therefore your 'North American' is killed here too. Hmm, wait! There's Canada too! ). It saddens/irks me when we are moved to Central or South America just because our first language isn't English. . .
