Look, I know you all were bent out of shape that ol' GW said a catastrophically stupid thing on a nearly daily basis and we made calenders out of his flubs, etc. and you were sitting there with your tivos all ready for the slightest slip up from the new guy so you could go, "Oh, but you made so much of Bush's slips..." But honestly, is it too much to ask that you actually come up with your own material instead of just trying to shoehorn 'Bushisms' onto the new guy?

You're inferring a lot of things that were not mentioned and are not true.

Now would you like to stop flailing your arms about or would you like me to explain why this is such bad press?

Honestly, I don't give a shit. Tempest in teapots would consider this much ado about nothing.

And when did using a teleprompter become a big deal? They all use teleprompters. Saint Reagan used a teleprompter. The days of Daniel Webster and great oratory are long gone. The last great speech may have been Mario Cuomo's keynote address to the 1984 Democratic Convention. Just reading it now, how much of what he lays at the feet of the GOP is still true.

The Associated Press is now referring to people as comrades? Fucking commie sympathizers.

Also this. Who gives a flying fuck?

Why is speaking without a teleprompter a prerequisite anyways? Thomas Jefferson, if one will remember, was such a horrendous public speaker that he submitted the State of the Union Address to Congress in written form rather than presenting it orally.

It isn't.

OMG what a terrible move on the presidents part, I mean....damn...

"sarcasm"
But seriously, most people are gonna say "Well mistakes happen" yet those same people get all over the GOP when they make little mistakes like Obama.

That was three years ago. Someone on his staff has explained it to him by now. Or it was in a briefing paper. Unlike his predecessor, this president is quite a reader.

Yeah, I read the article. It's not a vindication of President Bush.

I don't think Bush was stupid, tbh, misguided, ignorant and had some very shitty policies, but I think his folksy attitude was an act. And it paid off (after all he won twice). However, if you reviewed Kerry and Bush in '04 and how they talked to voters, Bush was a very personable guy, Kerry...uh...wasn't (to say the least). My point is I think he was acting dumber than he really was.

Oh, absolutely, more's the pity.

WASHINGTON — The White House is confirming that President Obama misspoke about a Medal of Honor winner coming home alive during comments at Fort Drum in upstate New York.

Addressing soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division on Thursday, Obama said one of their comrades was the first person he had awarded the Medal of Honor who wasn’t receiving it posthumously. In fact, the soldier, Sgt. 1st Class Jared Monti, was killed in action.

Obama spokesman Josh Earnest says the president misspoke. He noted that Obama paid tribute to Monti in remarks to troops in Afghanistan in March 2010. But Salvatore Giunta was the first living recipient of the medal among veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Earnest wouldn’t confirm an ABC report that Obama had called Monti’s family and apologized.

Um, why did we elect him again?

Great oration is an over rated skill.

Nick Griffiths is a great orator.

Yeah, why the hell did we elect someone who makes mistakes? I thought Jesus Christ ruled the United States of America!

We elected him because the previous administration had screwed up our image overseas by invading Iraq on a lie and had presided over the biggest economic downturn in recent history. We elected him because the Republicans nominated a sell-out who had opposed Bush in 2000 but became a torch-bearer for their policies and gave him one of the biggest political mistakes in history as his running mate on the addle-brained hunch that because Sarah Palin was female she'd attract all the disgruntled Clinton supporters from the Democrats. That's why, among other things.

You'd swear he had more pressing matters on his mind than remembering every person he bestowed the Medal of Honor upon.

It is a sad day when we criticize the President for honoring a solider who gave everything for his nation.

I guess as long as he does not leave spots at work which might cause a slip and fall it is fine.
