I don't know how long you have to wait, but I have relatives in Canada. They had horrible waiting periods. Weeks, months.

3 weeks for a broken arm. That didn't work out well.

Umm...if you want the protesters to stop shouting about the bill, the most effective way to stop them from shouting is to simply defeat the bill, no problems and no complaints. Seriously, if that many Senators and that many House Reps are being yelled at and 'booed' by American civilians and protesters, you think they would want to listen and decide that if they vote 'yes' their term is over. It has already been seen that the American people are not stupid, and quite a few of them are familiar with the messy red tape and bureaucracy that is ingested into this 1000 page catastrophe. A majority are wondering why we can't have the same type of coverage that many in the government have: 40% paid by the government, 50% insurance companies, and 10% out of pocket.

But no, being politicians, they won't listen, and in retaliation, voters will choose Bag-o-Leaves as their next Congressperson. :)

Bag-O-Leaves FTW!

Yes, this is also, true, healthcare is just one, very important topic, but it's the general direction the country is headed in as well.

You make is seem as though the country suddenly started heading in the wrong general direction because of Obama.

Well I'll let you in on a secret we've been keeping from you: The country has been headed in the wrong direction for so long the we've been lost the main road and fallen off the cliff long before Obama took over.

It' kinda like Obama got behind the wheel of a bus while it was falling off a cliff and have underwater and everybody expects him to save them all from falling off the cliff in the first place.

That make any sense?

No?

Exactly. It doesn't.

The country has been headed on the wrong track since November 22, 1963 imo. Obama is just expediting the process. And, I never said anything Obama in the post you replied to. Merely the wrong track.

And the people need to be able to get their points to their congressmen in a civil manner. Acting like a 3-year old should mean that you get treated like a 3-year old. The people who are in favor of health care reform and want to tell their congressman how to do it are just as much the "will of the people" as those who are against it and seek to drown out everyone else (or, for that matter, the people who are against it and actually act like adults about it).

Just on the record, I can hardly see how this is a "Legislation by tantrum" when a solid majority of people are against this bill. This isn't Legislation by Majority, this is Legislation being force fed down American throats, and most are pushing back, concerned, and enraged that hardly anyone in Congress read all 1000 pages.

And we are supposed to act "civil"? The one thing that the people can't stand is to be talked down upon by their own representatives. How would you like for your Congressperson to say "Sorry, but we are better and understand the problem, your opinion against this matter is not important". The only "3-year olds" in this situation are the Congresspeople, wining about how the people that voted for them exercise their free speech in front of their noses.

Maybe Senator Mccaskill will have to use her "mother's voice" more often when addressing a crowd now. :p

The Dogget booing only occurred after his declaration that he was voting on it no matter what his constituents said.

At Specter's meeting the protester was someone who was told he'd be allowed to speak prior to the meeting, but then not one of the selected few to be allowed during the actual meeting.

At others, those opposed are being barred from entry.

While some may just be a yelling crowd, all the meetings' circumstances are not all as black and white as you think.

What is the civil thing for people to do in these cases where they're not allowed to speak civilly or are told they'll be ignored anyway?

Since the majority is "solidly" against this bill, you MUST be able to post a link to bear out that contention. Otherwise you're just blowing hot air.
