This comment doesn't help you. You, despite wanting to berate believers, come off as the ignorant one.

Well, you have given your reasons for not beliving. That I respect, even if I don't agree with you. Has Ring of Isengard done the same? No. It denotes more than ignorance.

You're stating opinion. Not enough. Why is it that a believer is ignorant but you, self-proclaimed atheist, are not? Source this.

You see, as a believer I happen to think you're wrong. As a non-believer you think I am wrong. In matters of faith, it doesn't matter who's wrong and who's right. What matters if that some people have faith and others do not.

I tease. Hence the smiley. Some people think faith is a healthy thing. Some of us find it less so.

Because I do not believe something that there is no evidence for whatsoever and sounds like it should be in a fairytale. Happy? Of course you're not.

You can disbelieve and disavow and any all religious beliefs, that is your freedom and right to do so but don't call it "shit" nor its adherents "stupid" (via your "I'm not stupid enough" comment). I don't call atheists "ignorant fucks" or anything along those lines, so why not be civil about it. The amount of jaded atheists who take any and every turn on NationStates to slander religious faith or persons of faith is unbelievable. I'm a believer and I try to be civil and respectful, I don't know why it's so hard to get the same in return.

Yes, you certainly are sorry. As well as ignorant, because I differ from the Church on a number of issues, such as ordination of women and married men. But that's exactly what I expect from you.

Again, they do so to impress each other with how superior they are to believers. Vulgar expressions of contempt for belief makes them feel good about themselves.

And maybe they are actually whistling past the graveyard. ;)

I'm certainly guilty of being short with religious fundamentalists, and even use sarcasm to make a point. But I will concede it isn't always appropriate.

Some atheists simply have no tolerance for any religious claims. I'm always eager to challenge them, but not flame them.
