So was Athens.

All hail the Athenian Nation.

Returnee: I hate to disturb you, but my ancestors lived here about 100 years ago, and the Treaty of Sèvres implementation agency has determined that I am entitled to this property. Nice job you've done maintaining the place, too, by the way. So, I don't want to put you to too much trouble, but could you move out in a week's time?"

Turkish Owner: What are you, crazy? *slams door*

Yes, that will go very, very well.

I do not support the regaining of lost property.

For 10 months, from September 7, 1938 to June 29, 1939, when it became part of the Republic of Turkey. Does seem to have been a bit of bullying by the Turks, though. And I believe the Syrians claim the area, too. Didn't Indiana Jones liberate the place after retrieving the Holy Grail with his father?

It was part of the Alexandretta sanjak.

A lot of the territory was taken by someone else to begin with (save Armenia and Greece)

Every piece of land everywhere in the world was taken from someone else at some point in time, usually unjustly (with scarce few exceptions, I'd imagine).

Saying that 100 years ago territory belonged to X and was taken by Y and should be given back, taken to its logical conclusion, means that everyone should give the land back to everyone everywhere.

Eastern Africa to be precise.

Though recent studies show that modern humans are actually a mix of genes from Homo Neandarthalus and other species of the homo genus rather than descendants of only Homo Sapiens.

If everyone in the world were given a square yard, we could all stand on the island of Zanzibar.

Just to the Kurds and maybe give Mount Ararat to Armenia.

All of the other areas have Turkish majorities now, thanks to the population swaps.

Just look at the map in the OP. The placed that Turkey conquered from Italy, France, and Britain, were all conquered by that respective nation from what probably were Turkic tribal areas.

Oh, I see. Yes, well, those areas were "given" to Italy, France and Britain by virtue of their having won the First World War. They weren't actually conquered and in fact, save for Italy, they were never occupied by those countries. I could be wrong, but I think that's right.

Your German and Polish aspirations overlap. And you're really out of touch with reality, I see. Good to know.
