For 10 months, from September 7, 1938 to June 29, 1939, when it became part of the Republic of Turkey. Does seem to have been a bit of bullying by the Turks, though. And I believe the Syrians claim the area, too. Didn't Indiana Jones liberate the place after retrieving the Holy Grail with his father?

They weren't actually conquered and in fact, save for Italy, they were never occupied by those countries. I could be wrong, but I think that's right.
