If someone thinks an honest answer about that matter might bring them problems in the future then they should take the smart way out and lie. If one is an atheist there should be little problem with that, it's not like they're betraying their oaths or something.

So people should just accept that their beliefs will cause them problems and try to hide them, not try and change the situation. Sounds like a recipe for a wonderful world.

In reality, if you didnt want the attention of having to deal with people bashing your beliefs all around these forums, you would do one or two of three things:
1)Stop posting on forums where it matters.
2)Remove the "Proud Christian" from your sig. That is just asking for it.
3) Quit NS. (Least preferrable option)

Honestly, what is there to bash with atheism? It's a lack of belief, what's to laugh at? You might as well mock space for being cold and having nothing in it.
Also, it's quite easy to feel persecuted as an atheist, I'd imagine. People constantly attacking you for being different, it'd really be no different than any other kind of discrimination and persecution.

I think more Christians would do that to atheists rather than atheists to Christians. The majority of atheists I've known in real life were really nice and everything, and they didn't give a shit about what religious beliefs you had.
