Canadians and East Asians also enter the nation illegally. Several Europeans have been known to stay past their visas. It isn't only Mexicans who are illegal immigrants.

I understand that, and know I don't support this bill at all, and thank you for clarifying.

Brown people are all illegals. Hooray Alabama. Don't bother spending that money fixing your #47-8 Education ranking, just throw out anyone who looks brown or talks "funny," regardless of whether or not they're contributing more than the white trash you seem to have no trouble with.

I'm sure that the Secret Service would be delighted if the sheriffs of Bumfuck County showed up at the White House and demanded that they be allowed to enact their own policies to protect the executive branch.

I find it astounding that you think that the States should be allowed to usurp the Federal government.

Imagine if the VP didn't like a bill the president was going to pocket-veto, so the VP signed it for him.

I hate these kinds of laws. They involve racial profiling. How else would you suspect that a person might be here illegally without looking at papers first. My family is Hispanic but they are here legally and first came here more than 100 years ago for a better life. Not to be racially profiled and suspected of illegal status.

Exactly. I think the Supreme Court should amend the Constitution to prevent states and localities from passing these types of laws.

I'm pretty sure they will. Their latest decision allows states to pass laws penalizing employers that employ illegals, but I don't think they're going to allow border control to be left up to the states.

Oh, you didn't know? Chinese immigrants, legal and illegal, were largely responsible for the western railroads.

Were you aware too that Charlize Theron was an illegal immigrant?

I find it hilarious that the same things people said of Chinese immigrants in the 1880s are said now of the Mexicans.
