Thank you. It wasn't entirely selfless, mind you - the money I saved went a long way towards setting myself up to get my degree and a (so far) good civilian life. I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to go into further education, the four years pass by fast and you can really learn a lot.

ROTC can do much the same thing in the US, but it may not cover all expenses.

We had an ROTC lieutenant for a while. Much more on the ball than the two Academy graduates I served under!
