That must have happened when I was on holiday as I missed it.

And if they happened then all apart from the last one would not be politically correct as the would be the wrong/incorrect thing to do.

Either that or you sheeple just don't pay attention.

And no, I don't agree with her. She's just using a juvenile tactic to try and make some money.

I'm at work - can someone else dig up that Stewart Lee video about people not understanding what politically correct means? I feel its appropriate right now.

That she can claim the advertisment was racist on the most flimsy of grounds as an attempt to get what she wants. She probably would have kicked up a firestorm if they didn't pull it - one doesn't have to get a court order to make oneself heard. People far too easily resort to 'racist' label and the system allows them to do so.

What exactly are you bitching about? The fact that Naomi Campbell, like everyone else, is free to say stupid things? How exactly should "the system" be fixed to prevent this, and why?

A disgusting situation as I'm sure you agree. Certainly the greatest danger facing this nation in the modern era.

Here you go.

Georgism wrote:Either that or you sheeple just don't pay attention.

Fined one Internet for use of the word "sheeple". Report to your local Center for Meme Control for your lashings.

I think that this is mainly about PR - someone at Cadbury's probably decided that it was worth pulling rather than generate a lot of "ZOMG RACIST CHOCOLATE" idiocy - which is what would happen if it were left to fester in public discourse. Remember that the basic common denominator of the global marketplace of ideas is the YouTube commenter - it's not a matter of political correctness, it's a matter of a lot of people (Campbell included) being bloody stupid. Whether those people are called African-Americans, wops, niggers, crackers, Alabamans, Italians, Maxtopians, Liliputians or Marche Noirians makes no difference to their bloody stupidity. Idiocy transcends racial boundaries.

She's got better grounds than 'most flimsy'. She's not complaining from out of nowhere - she was specifically pulled into the comparison.

I suspect it was always intended to be pulled, as soon as it got a response... sort of 'flash marketing'. It is basically trolling as advertising - call someone a diva (especially if you can manage questionable insinuation about race, for example)... and then profit off the 'diva' behaviour when they complain.

i sort of do but it seems as off the mark as the ad itself is.

its not really racist to compare remarkable beauty and delicious candy. its not denegrating anyone or putting anyone in their place.

but it does seem wrong to call a candy bar "difficult to work with" (diva)
whatever

This is rediculous! Cadbury's said that they didn't mean it in a racist way, how can people still be complaining? PC has go way to far.

I find their add highly offensive.... Not because it is racist, but because, being a chocoholic, comparing Naomi to a Chocolate bar is a disgrace to chocolate bars everywhere.
