Well, a gay relationship isn't anymore likely to involve mutilation than a straight one, we're not talking about sexual practices that might involve mutilation or significant risk of injury. Assume we're describing a 'vanilla' relationship either way. If you feel anal sex is a health risk, assume they don't participate in it. Are you still backing that comparison, or is rape morally worse than consensual gay sex?

I do feel anal sex is a health risk, including among straights. I oppose anal relations among straights as well as queers.

They are only entitled, within reason, to the right to safety and to pursue the life they feel makes them happy. I don't believe that even marriage is precisely a civil right, though.
