The English Birmingham is better known, at least around here (Mid-Atlantic US) I think. I could be wrong. Neither one of the cities is discussed very often.

I would imagine Birmingham, AL is more well known in the south.

Let's just say it was bombed heavily in the war so it was rebuilt in concrete in the 60s, they have a unique accent and also the train station smells of burgers, drugs and alcohol.... Did I mention the accent?
