Prove It

Okay, most Atheists I talk to use the Weak-Positon method, putting the "Burden of Proof" on Christians. I want to switch it around. I want to put the Burden of Proof on YOU.

So please Atheist of NS, prove it. And Christians, please don't be afraid to post here.

I'm not sure what you expect me to prove. That there isn't a god? I don't know that, nor do I believe that. My position is that since I have no compelling reason to believe there is a god, I will carry on as though there isn't one. What about that should I prove?

I'll prove that your God who I reject doesn't exist if you prove that Zeus, Odin, Ra, Vishnu or any of the other deities that you reject don't exist.

If you're claiming that you believe some god exist, it's your claim. You've obviously heard this many times and run away from it, hence why you're "turning it around" here, we call that shifting the goal posts.

You can try to put the burden of proof on me but I'm afraid that I'm not making any claims, I am just sceptical of theist claims.

Religion is based on the entire premise that you can't conclusively disprove god. If we could do that religion would fall apart at the seems.

You're essentially asking us to tackle what is essentially the reason why religion is so prolific to begin with; it can't be disproved. It can't be proved.

It can only be argued. For eternity. I opted out of these debates long ago. For the sake of my sanity, and to save regurgitating up the same-old.

Aaaand that's what we call a "logical fallacy." It is impossible to prove a negative position, i.e. "God doesn't exist." There is a reason why atheists keep putting the burden of proof on Christians: it is the job of the one making the positive claim to prove it.

the 'issue' is inherently untestable by humans because any scientific evidence would have to come from outside the system Earth, which [so far] humans cannot access at the system level. ergo, neither position can be 'proved' and the argument will always be one of intolerance versus ignorance.
