It's movements like that that fascinate me. I mean, people like Jesus, he lived 2,000 years ago, so he gets some benefit of the doubt. But people like this Camping... he's right here, and I can see him bullshitting, and I can't understand why some people can't see through that.

Well, Smith never made fully cataclysmic end of the world predictions. Though his prediction of New York being destroyed for not repenting after his visit failed.

He did partially hit on the Civil War, as in 1832 he predicted that a war would emerge in the US between the North and the South staring in South Carolina.... however, he also said the war would spread world-wide. So he was at best 1/2 right.

If Camping is smart, he has jumped into a barrel of sulfuric acid by now. That way, nobody will be able to find him, hence people will assume that rapture hit indeed, with Camping as the only rescuee worldwide.*nods*
