Evidenz?

There is no evidence either way. It's a pure "he said, she said".

You mean since January. Just because you weren't paying attention doesn't mean it didn't happen.

No, I mean since 2007. The last confirmed Osama tape was made in September 2007. No videotape with actual footage has been released since then, only voiceovers over a still picture or old footage of OBL.

The actual video tells a different story than the screencap (I presume we're looking at the same video here).

There's idle speculation on your part, and some very, very substantial evidence available to everyone else.

That would seem to be an entirely reasonable precaution. There were a ton of early efforts to identify the location of bin Laden, based off of background and other things in the videos. Using just a simple audio tape seems to be far safer.

"Obama said so" is all there is. There is no other evidence.

That the raid happened isn't in question.

The Pakistanis seem to have drawn a similar conclusion as Mr. Obama.

And it's not like I'm sort of Obamabot, either. I didn't vote for the guy (M-I-C-KEY M-O-U-S-E! Dedicated and proud, one of several hundred in 2008).

I'm baffled as to, what appears to me, to be undue skepticism.

He's dead, and rotting in Hell. :) Oh happy day! So, if what I say/do disturbs the Muslim community, think about how that same community celebrated with 3000 citizens of the world perished on 9/11. Or their constant silence over subsequent terrorist activities.

There comes a time when the nation needs to heave a sigh of relief, and even if for a brief moment, reflect on life before 9/11, bask in the warm glow of those memories, before we once again gird ourselves to face the tiranny of Islam as practiced by a large percentage of it's adherants (What we refer to radical islamic practices). Let us together join hands gleefuly and proclaim, 'The Rat Bastard Known as Osama Bin Laden is dead. May he rott in hell for all eternity. May the sinse he poured on the peoples of the earth revisit him for all eternity, and may he never know peace, comfort, joy, rest, and security. May the sinews be torn appart by the most ghastly of hellish beasts, and may his mortal remains be food for the fish of the deep. May The Eternal Judge damn him for all eternity, and may the 72 virgins which he aspired to be with all be lesbian.

The US propaganda ministries are also a bit confused right now. First story said bin Laden went out, guns blazin', with a meatshield (of course).

Then they decide the woman didn't die, but was shot in the leg. And bin Laden was (lol) unarmed.

Pictures will not be released apparently. That is a terrible terrible decision.

edit: okay maybe that is a kneejerkish reaction on my part.

BBC wrote:Gruesome details of photographs showing Osama bin Laden's corpse have been revealed by US officials.

The pictures of the Qaeda leader reportedly show an open gun shot wound to his head, part of the skull missing and visible brain matter.

One of bin Laden's eyes is reportedly open in the images, while the other is "completely gone".

It comes as the White House and the CIA appear to be at loggerheads over whether to release the graphic pictures.

Senior figures in US President Barack Obama's administration are locked in talks about the publication of a post-mortem photos.

It is believed the President has concerns that producing the most identifiable picture of the terrorist chief could provoke a backlash.

He fears doing so may prompt a similar response to that seen after images of Saddam Hussein's dead sons were published in 2003.

Strange. An outright denial? I would've thought they'd simply delay, in order to fabricate some photos.

And the Administration has gone out of its way to amend the account when necessary. A lot of what was said early on was just random speculation by the 24 hour news networks truong to fill time.

I agree with Steve Walt. http://walt.foreignpolicy.com/posts/201 ... _bin_laden The exact details will emerge over time, but we need not worry overmuch about what they may be.

I'm pretty convinced by now that Obama is actually dead, he had health problems, and covering it up with him alive would be too risky.

But the story just doesn't add up. Too many red flags, too many secrets, too many lies. The devil is, as always, in the details. Not the details of what angle he was shot from, but when he died and how.

If you have a nice clean true story, you don't need to hide anything, you just show the evidence and tell it as it is.

If you are going to fabricate photos, I'd expect them to be taken care of in advance.

The whole photo debate, along with the evolving details, should indicate the veracity of the broader narrative.

The truth is rarely nice and never clean. Confusion about operational details is to be expected. A "nice clean...story" would send up red flags. Instead, the story is being amended as a more complete understanding of events is unfolding. Welcome to the real world.

I'm actually for with-holding those photos, at least for the moment. I mean, Methinks the pictures of Osama minus half of his head, what with the brains, chunks of bone, and obligatory post-mortem bleeding, would be a bit... inflammatory at the moment? Al-Qaida is bragging that it has a nuke in Europe. Who cares if it's true or not: I'm not in the mood to satisfy their request to 'come at us bro'.
