It's a celebration of your birth. The people around you saying: The world is a better place because you were born so we will mark the day and do something special on it.
The day you die really has no relation to the day you were born.
First off, one of the main reasons I cannot stand my birthday is because I am not a social person. Why should I be forced to socialise with people who I don't care all that much for when I could be reading or writing, or even watching a film?
Second of all, if that were true then everyone would love to celebrate their birthdays.
It does, because we're marking another year on the path to eventual death.

I survived another trip around the sun, I'm another year closer to death, and I'm another year beyond my physical prime. My question for you guys: How old are you? Do birthdays still matter to you? If so, why? What do you do for your birthday?

Some people, such as myself, don't celebrate birthdays. I don't celebrate them as I have better things to do. He doesn't as he's introverted.

On topic, it ceases to matter when you are dead. People celebrate the birthdays of my father and myself because we are advancing the path to Juche, all throughout Korea. Once you are dead, birthdays cease to matter. Why? Duh.

I'm not a Jehovah's Witness. I am a follower of Juche. I love you and all of Korea, Dear Leader.
