Meh. While presents were nice, I didn't so much care for them as I never really ever got anything cool. My family's more the socks and underwear type of family. It's bad, though, when you stop seeing even those...
Anyhow, to me, I guess each birthday was a step toward manhood. Now that I'm a man with a nine to five and a house to maintain, I'm seeing it as a step further from the childhood that I miss.

I usually get manga, 2-3 video games, some clothes. But this year, I've been asking for a ukelele and a killjoy jacket. I doubt I'll get the latter for a long time, if ever. And happy birthday.

You like manga? Aren't you 15?

Though I guess I'm in no position to judge. I really enjoyed manga until I was 14, too.

Cling to your childhood for dear life! I miss the magic and whimsy of being a child. I remember the last day I played with my action figures. It just wasn't fun and I didn't understand why at the time.

Aren't you in High School?

Yeah but that doesn't really matter. The only reason Zeno exists; is to please others... otherwise, life is pretty much pointless on this side of the train tracks. By the way.... *goes off to upload some more pics*

I'm 18,birthdays do matter to me,because I don't have a job or a girlfriend so not much else happens in my life,I stay at home and a few relations from Mom's side come to visit. They're from the same small town. The father's side don't come because they're all too far away and I've had enough of the dumb bastard.

I'm in my teens, so I still do slumber parties and all that fun stuff. I think it might be a little different for females. We seem to care more about doing something interesting on our birthdays.

Never really cared since I was 16. Woop, I'm another year closer to certain death from old age. And you want me to celebrate it? My 18th was the real killer though.

Sure last year I got to see a movie with two buds but that was it. I just don't care any more. Even though last November when my schools spirit week happened, they had me get on stage and except a kiss on the cheek from a girl I did not care about my birthday. My birthday still matters... TO AMERICA!

And this year, my friends and I will raise our glasses of 1985 Glenrothes Single Malt and toast my 26th year of life, and all the poor bastards who were killed ten years ago.

It's a celebration of your birth. The people around you saying: The world is a better place because you were born so we will mark the day and do something special on it.

The day you die really has no relation to the day you were born.

My problem is that people don't gather to celebrate my birthday. They gathered for easter last week and said "happy birthday" to me and my little bro while they were there.

First off, one of the main reasons I cannot stand my birthday is because I am not a social person. Why should I be forced to socialise with people who I don't care all that much for when I could be reading or writing, or even watching a film?

Second of all, if that were true then everyone would love to celebrate their birthdays.

It does, because we're marking another year on the path to eventual death.

I'm turning 64 tomorrow. Birthdays still matter to me, though for different reasons than they did in the past. Now it's a matter of wondering how many more I'm going to have.

I stopped caring around 12. I decided I had better things to do than celebrate. Of course, getting free stuff for nothing was never objectionable.
