Its not Christianity as a whole, I mean few people who complain at the fundamentals of peace, love and self sacrifice that its meant to be about, but its the extreme fundamentalist and hipocritical elements that some versions or people who follow it adhere to which is the annoying part.

E.g.
Catholacism: I have no problem with individual Catholics (indeed one of my closes freinds is one) but my problem with it is that it seems to be treated more often like a business than a faith, that it is an extremely money hoarding and right wing insitutution (debatable morality wise, but seems extremely hipocritical considering that Jesus complained on more than 1 occasion that Rich people should give all their money away and wouldnt get into heaven otherwise, which is very left wing...) and the attitude that many have where they can do w.e. they feel like as long as they ask for forgiveness later.
Eco-Friendly Green Cyborg Santa Claus

Contrary to the propaganda, we live in probably the least materialistic culture in history. If we cared about the things of the world, we would treat them quite differently. We would be concerned with their materiality. We would be interested in their beginnings and their ends, before and after they left our grasp.

I have a few Christian friends. People who don't think atheists are evil. Though one of them says she sad I won't be in heaven when she gets there. I just don't see how someone otherwise sensible person can put faith in a being that punishes people for disbelief. Just a thought, but if I were a supreme being I'd judge people on how they treated their fellow beings, not whether or not the believe I exsist.

Meh. Universalism says everyone's going to heaven anyway. I'm terrible at evangelism, I just don't understand why God would want me to force my beliefs on other people. So I just don't worry about the whole thing. I reckon no-one's going to get 'punished', as it were.

Not believing in any typical vision of a deity, if any at all, tends to make one fairly critical of religious beliefs.

Simple.

Christians are critical of other beliefs.
Christians don't simply "move on" with disagreements.
Christians comment and mock things.

Jack asses exist in everything. You can't take them personal and understand they exist in your Religion.

As long as you aren't trying to impose your belief system on others, most people don't care you are a Christian.

I am a Christian Catholic, and I am proud to say:

I am not critical of other beliefs.
I do "move on" when arguing is useless.
I do not comment and mock things.

Good day!

For the same reasons-if you exclude the "smelly muslim" part-they criticize islam

Brutality in practice, even though preaching peace and understanding
Its clerics go against their very supposed beliefs and teachings
Money/power cult
Against women,gays etc
Crusades/Jihad
Inquisition/beheadings of "infidels"
Jews in Spain in the M Ages/Christians in S Arabia
against social progress and science
an excuse to divide the oppressed classes of the world against each other,to the benefit of the oppressors

Too bad most who criticize one of these religions usually tend to defend the other...
and remember,it's not the BELIEVER who is to blame, but the (higher echelons of) clerics/imams who brainwash them, who are btw in the oppressor class

Against:Fascism, nazism, dictatorship, stalinism, crapitalism, primitivism, conservatism, religion (esp.judaism, christianity and islam and of those especially islam), individualism, corporatism, nationalism, globalism, sexism, racialism, and in general reactionary ideologies. Yep. This is why I think Dawkins, Maher, and the like are necessary douchebags. They have never said anything too bad about moderate religious beliefs, but they go all super badass on fundamentalism.

its not necessarily justified but there is a ridiculous idea some religious folk have that because they are 'religious beliefs' they cannot be attacked and are somehow above being questioned.

its a form of control, dont get so upset when we tell you that! i think its fine when people question my socialist arguments because it makes me think critically and have to provide evidence for my beliefs, which is a positive thing. i get called all sorts of names and have the piss ripped out of me all the time for being a 'bolshevik bastard', why is that different from abusing religious people?

give me some evidence (i.e. not a childrens novel) that j-dizzle walked on water, turned water to wine, fed a bunch of people with a tuna sandwich, and i wont take the piss that out of the fact you believe it
