No. The Middle East is one of the most geo-strageically combustible areas in the World - they need American military bases to keep the balance of power stable and the rest of the world needs their oil.

The silliness of suggesting that the U.S doesn't need a military is just baffling.

Ok so then send in UN troops to handle the Middle East. I mean with the UN and NATO its not like the US needs its own military since like ive said pretty much every nation in europe is apart of NATO and UN soo its not like were going to have a war with a nation that has a modern equiped and trained army and lead to alot of casualties and real warfare. People think afganistan is this dangerous war but its nothing compared to the casualty rate in vietnam and ww2 everyday soldiers were being killed and wounded now its like once every 3months a soldier gets killed or wounded which is nothing. Like I said the only war theres going to be anymore is wars with small poor middle eastern cuntrys who have militia trained troops who only run in the hills and use guerilla warfare tactics.

UN soldiers jobs are to keep peace am I right? So sending them to keep peace in the middle east would make sense since thats their fricken job is to keep peace. Im not saying we shouldnt have a military Im just saying with the fact that most modern countrys are allianced with the US its not like the US is going to actually going to go to war with a modern well equipped army. And the US could if threatned just have the other countrys in NATO handle the situation.

What? Liberals hate the military, it's a stain on our country to them and obviously we are one big happy global village, so if we take off our clothes, hold hands and sing 'Kumbaya,' everything will be better!

That makes no sense. Tensions are still high between the West and Russia. Most modern countries are not allied with most modern countries. And NATO loses a lot its teeth without the US.

I'll indulge.

How old are you? What papers do you read pertaining to international affairs? Have you ever studied it as a subject under qualified instruction? Why do you have such strong opinions on foreign policy towards the Middle East.

I do think that we ened to cut back. Our massive military essentially subsidizes European welfare states, Israel, South Korea, etc. by relieving them of the duty to maintain their own defense.

I would love for this game to have more of a military, but it is just impossible if you have a military then you'll want land and conquer which means you'll need a map which is impossible because nations are constantly created as well as regions

We need a military, but we need to get rid of the interventionist foreign policies that make us act like we're the world police.

You do realize who disproportionately funds the UN, and tends to provide the bulk of power for UN and NATO operations, right? The UN doesn't have it's own military, nor does NATO. Nor will the other nations in NATO be willing to handle situations, especially when they lack the ability to project power.

You ARE the world police. One mildly amusing satire movie is not a good refutation of United States foreign policy dating back to the inception of the Cold War. (It actually dates back further)

Nonsense. They're much more capable than the American military. They actually think about what they do.

We shouldn't be. It is not the responsibility of the United States to enforce any laws in territories it doesn't directly govern, nor to protect human rights in those territories. Our number one priority should be our own country, not foreign ones.
