Not only do I not believe in the paranormal, but I don't even find it remotely interesting. I've yet to hear a ghost story that was half as interesting as the real shit that goes down in biology every day. :D

I don't believe in paranormal stuff. However, I'm open minded. At the same time I'm rather paranoid about paranormal stuff, when I see it on television or read stories about it I get all superstitutious, I normally get over it though. I find it interesting and try to silence the voice my head that says its hullucinations, an over active mind, or some vision and sensation brought on by sleep paralysis.

Like I said earlier, there's an open mind and then there's a mind so open your brains fall out. You should listen to that voice because it is hallucinations, over-active imaginations and sleep paralysis, among other things.

No, not really. But I try to keep an open mind.

I've had "experiences" with the "paranormal" before. When I was a kid, my mother would collect the creepiest dolls. You know, the ones with the eyes that follow you. I hated being left alone with them, because they would start speaking and calling my name. Even now, I see shadows run across my house at night, and I hear sourceless voices on occasion.

However, I am also pretty certain (not entirely sure, but I'd bet money on it) that I am somewhat insane, so I realize that these things I hear and see probably aren't really there.

Faking? depends on how you look at it... Was really cold reading (which is I think as close as a person can get) but had to throw some crazy stuff in at the end to get it wrong. Consider though the specifics that were correct and then consider that we're not even face-to-face. In person I'd very likely get your initials and much more specific and personal stuff but still can't claim to actually have psychic powers. This makes me strongly doubt psychic ability but I do think that people can pick up each others body language and phish out information without knowing that's what they're doing.

I'm still skeptical that science and/ or humans will ever be able to understand everything in the Universe though. People have always identified patterns and labeled them and that is basically what science really does (it just happens to give us ideas about and access to more patterns than we used to have).

Neat.

Although I get the feeling cryptids aren't really "paranormal".

Like a bunch of stuff. Ball lightning, "Earth lights", the Project Blue Book unidentifiables, and why Jersey Shore is on TV in the first place, not even touching upon why it gets ratings and a fan base (of equally orange Martians, I assume).

Picking up on body language and teasing bits of information out of the subject is just how cold readings work. I recall seeing something, it may have been on 60 Minutes, where two Russian sisters who claimed to be psychics tried to do a reading on someone who deliberately would not speak to them and who sat very still. The sisters became angry and ended the session.

I agree, we probably won't figure everything out, but that doesn't automatically mean that the things we don't understand are "supernatural." A great many people seem to think that's true.

b) not a roid-shooter
c) probably not an armadillo

I've always been curious as to the difference between 'paranormal' and 'supernatural'. I'm not a superstitious person, though I believe in extraterrestrial life- I just don't believe they have visited Earth. I'm willing to alter my view if presented with proof, but I live in a scientific universe. It doesn't allow for ghosts or aliens.

All of the first can be determined by physics. Not sure what ball of lightning you're referring to, or Earth lights. Then again, as a disclaimer, I'm a novice physicist.

Seriously, science is best for ruining superstitions and opening up new worlds.

I heard of this one house in Spain in the basement you would see two faces on the wall and one time the people who lived there got a hammer and break off one piece of a face then a hour later it was actually look like as if they didn't break it off ever. Everyday they different emotions and feelings they do themselves and the police who arrived found dead bodies of people under the basement floor. That the motherfucking creepy one I known about and told my mom about in a book once when i was 12 in 5th grade

No, you've seen things that YOU couldn't explain. The arrogance that it must take to jump from "I can't explain this." to "Nobody can explain this. It must be something that cannot be explained ever, no matter what." is astounding.

Hear hear. Everything is explainable. We just gotta discover the explanations.
