I do feel short-changed, after campaigning for the guy.

In other words, I don't support the constitution, but might support a theoretical one that is different.

Hey, he supports the hypothetical Constitution, so hypothetically he's a Constitutionalist!

How the hell do you figure you are not being racist by saying the Founding Fathers wouldn't like him because of his skin colour?

Its true, the Founding Fathers NEVER would have believed that a African-American would get the presidency. They all owned slaves (except some Federalists) but they did not consider them sub-human.

Exactly! Because we all know, if you're in poverty it's because you're a lazy asshole and nothing else.

I hear you. And it's especially annoying as despite what the right wingers on this thread say, he was elected to be a left wing President, that's why so many Americans got so excited about his victory, not just because he's the first African American but because he looked like he could bring real change to, well, the lots and lots of poor people who get nothing out of America or the constitution...
I think making a mistake in assuming being reasonable will provoke a reasonable reaction from the right, because at the end of the day all they are really in politics for is the protection of their rarified constituents monetary interests...
Oh well. Shouldn't be too hard on him, he's still the best President since Kennedy and he's an other seven years to do the job properly...
