If Arizona were to secede from the United States ..

Postby Sorvasia » Fri Apr 15, 2011 11:59 pm

Arizona is increasingly becoming highly sustainable in terms of security, and it's legislative government fails to recognize most of the clauses of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. I predict that Arizona will threaten secession within 20 years, if not, 15.

NSG, what do you think would result if Arizona were to secede from the United States of America?

If AZ or TX ever secede, ill be the first one there, its better there than this sinking ship, aka California.

People who denounce the free market and voluntary exchange, and are for control and coercion, believe they have more intelligence and superior wisdom to the masses. What's more, they believe they've been ordained to forcibly impose that wisdom on the rest of us. Of course, they have what they consider good reasons for doing so, but every tyrant that has ever existed has had what he believed were good reasons for restricting the liberty of others.

They'd last about as long as it would take the Armed Forces to occupy the capital and arrest the leaders of the secession movement. Maybe a day?

AZ's economic situation would make downtown Detroit look like the land of milk and honey and summer homes.

Doubt it. Most Arizonians resent the Fed, and its practically evident in the bills they constantly propose and pass. I would expect some minor resistance, certainly enough to keep the movement living on for like another week or so until they realize their shit's fucked.

I keep telling my students that -- unfortunately, they never believe me.

Seriously -- they are going nuts over their border security now -- what do they propose to do with no federal funding to help them pay for the massive expense of patrolling their border?

And what will they do when we deport back their own folks who try to jump the border back into the rest of the U.S.?

Probably the same thing that happened last time.

Little known fact: Arizona was claimed by the Confederacy.

It would be partitioned and there will be Civil War. The Democrats in Tuscon will fight to break from the Union while Gov. Brewer will stand resolved to enforce the laws and constitution of the United States and Arizona.

Secession from the union is a tenant of the constitution?

Seems kind of pointless to write the document in the first place, then, doesn't it?

Well I doubt they would be able to survive economically; they are landlocked so I presume the rest of the US would close the border with them and prevent them using US air space. Good job they haven't done anything to piss off the Mexicans....oh wait.
Are we there yet?

Which part of that did you not understand? Democrats will jump at any opportunity to create their socialist dystopia without electoral votes from Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and South Carolina stopping them.

The part about Governor Brewer defending the U.S. constitution by seceding from the union it was written to govern.

Most Democrats believe in socialism. They just don't try or say that openly, and never will while the GOP lasts in America. For that I give them credit.
