Even in Michigan a Canadian is out of place. My fellow high schoolers think I can't say the word 'about', or that I love moose.

Most of the Quebecois side of m family lives in Michigan. They're in the UP though, so they fit just fine. People don't pick up on my accent as much as yours evidently, they only assume when I start talking about snow, or hockey, or anything remotely Canadian, that I'm not American, and I'm actually quite persecuted for it.

It's like that here, it may be where you are and it may not be in other parts of the USA. IMO, the USA is too big to say something like that about it as a whole.

I've spent enough time all over the US to know that it's like that in most locations. Depending on the size really. In general, Americans are far friendlier than Europeans, say, even the Europeans.

I've found Germans to be very friendly, not so much with the French (No offence to anyone here, just my experiences).
