Canadians, eh?

Postby Maaselene » Sun Apr 10, 2011 10:15 am

what do you think of us? I've always wondered what non-Canadians think of us. Be blunt.
Trying to think of us from an outside point of view, I really think we come across as a bunch of people stuck back in time who have beavers for pets, live in igloos, and ride polar bears to school and work. I just want everyone elses opinions.

All the Canadians I've met (about 5) were really cool and laid back people. I also understood that they're the Danish of America :p

You're like us Britons, but on the other side of the Atlantic- unless you're Québécois, in which case you're transatlantic Frenchmen.

Canada is cold, pretty, and mostly empty. Canadians are friendly hockey players (based on the stereotypes found in "How I met your mother", since I don't know any actual Canadians and have never been to Canada), and they are generally more reasonable than Americans.

I think most american have a positive view of Canada.

The only bad thing I can think of is that the only Canadian role models I can think of at the moment are hockey players.

You're good English speaking people, although Dutchmen generally speaking don't have a stereotype for them... That's maybe because you guys kind of stand in the shadow of America.

Myself? I find Canedian's cool. Canedian accent is even cooler. Almost as good as the Scottish accent. 8)

And besides, I like the Arrogant Worms.

Canada is America's hat. Most Americans have a very positive view of Canada. We love to talk about "Canadian Bacon" and use your accents XP Although yes, we do enjoy making ethnic jokes about other nationalites ^_^
