That said, what's a good way in dealing with them if they come around later?

I live in a small apartment building so I don't see any JWs.

I do encounter Mormons when I'm walking around though. Usually I just chat with them, entirely avoiding the subject of religion until they bring it up (usually by asking me if I am religious) at which point I just say that I'm not interested in adopting a religion, they give me a business card and we wish each other a good day.

JWs seem more adamant though. I'd probably run with telling them I'm not interested and if they didn't go away, I'd ask them to leave.

If you treat them respectfully, they won't disrespect you, and they'll usually go away if you make it clear you have no interest in their message. I don't really understand all the hate for them - it's not as if they harm you in any way by knocking on your door. Good for them for actually caring about something enough to go try to spread it to others, even if I wholeheartedly disagree with what it is their trying to spread.

I always got annoyed with them because they and my dad would spend hours every Saturday trying to convert each other. It was really stupid and usually I wanted to do something with my dad (or at least have the ability to run around the house and make noise). If they tended to show up in the afternoons and didn't keep coming back after people told them they weren't interested they probably wouldn't have such a bad rap either.

Oh no no. I am officially non-denomination, with leaning towards eastern Christianity. My Lebanese flag is because I absolutely love that country. I hope to be there by the end of the year doing non-profit work. I have a few Lebanese friends, a few actually being Melkite.



And to the OP(so i am not hijacking), do you want a serious theological answer to make them go away?
