I don't know, some of that stuff is so over the top it's fun to listen to. TBH, I actually really, really like Anal Cunt. Who aren't really a goregrind band, but they're about as grindy as you can possibly be without being noise.

Anyways, I like me some jazz, IDM, punk, oh...and I like DEAAATHHH METAAAALLLL.

I'm actually a death metal guitarist. I'm not secretly a famous person, though.

Post-punk is the mellower, darker stuff punk kids started playing after 78, the stuff that goth and new wave grew out of. British alternative grew out of post-punk, but American alternative grew out of post-hardcore after about 1984. Some American 'college rock' existed, but it wasn't until after hardcore punk's first wave that the American alternative scene took off.

Pop punk was pretty much Ramones worship, or hardcore + Ramones worship.
