Should Israel be allowed to colonize its neighbors?

Every week more Jews make Aliyah to Israel, and along with migrants from Israel proper, they are generously provided land by the Israeli government and its agencies in Israeli-occupied parts of neighboring countries.

There are many justifications for confiscation of others land in Israeli political and legal discourse - abandonment, natural growth, security, and environmental concerns have all been used depending on the circumstances.

Unfortunately, the Fourth Geneva Convention (http://www.icrc.org/ihl.nsf/WebART/380-600056) prohibits transferring any part of the occupiers' population into occupied territories.

As a result, the United Nations Security Council has passed resolutions ordering Israel to stop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_Nations_resolutions_concerning_Israel).

However, the UN has never and will never make an effort to actually stop Israel; as Israel has 600 nuclear weapons, and missiles that can reach Europe.

In any case:

SHOULD Israel be permitted to colonize its neighbors? And why?

No, they shouldn't. As much as the Israelis refuse to acknowledge it, the US still holds their leash. If we EVER stop sending them aid, they'd be unable to afford not having peace with their neighbors.

In response to the OP: Yes, Israel should because they will better utilize the land than the gaot herders that currently reside there.

Of course not. There is such a thing called "sovereignity", you know.

If Israel would even try to conquer Syria or Jordania the entire Arab Leage would be pissed as hell, and the NATO probably too.

Actually, you could provide me with a link to the supposed massive amounts of funding Israel gets.

Personally, me living in Israel, I'd love if we took over the entire Middle East. We'd have it Westernized in 20 years tops.

We could finally sell our tiny two floor house and buy a large piece of land!

He's not wrong. I can't remember where it was, but the settlers used to grow these amazing fruits and vegetables in greenhouses. One the Israeli govt gave them the boot, the Palestinians took over, and their attempts at farming basically consisted of them yelling at the crops, going "WHY THE FUCK WON'T THIS GROW".
